Columbus, Ohio—CoverMyMeds is the newest company to partner with Besa to enhance its community philanthropic impact.
CoverMyMeds is partnering with Besa to engage in volunteer activities that will result in more than 500 hours of community service benefitting 25 non-profit organizations in 2017. By partnering with Besa, CoverMyMeds employees will discover new ways to connect with Ohio philanthropies for community service.
“CoverMyMeds employees have a long tradition of getting involved in the community,” said Alan Gilbert, SVP of Talent Management at CoverMyMeds. “It has always been part of our culture, and they love to explore new ways to use their time and talents to give back. This partnership with Besa is one more way CoverMyMeds employees can make an impact on the world around them.”
The Talent Management team at CoverMyMeds already has their first activity planned – a service day at the Van Buren Center, a center dedicated to protecting human rights and needs by providing safe shelter.
Besa Executive Director Matthew Goldstein said he is excited by the continued interest in Columbus’ corporate community to give back to the city in meaningful, robust ways.
“CoverMyMeds is obviously making headlines for its business success, but even more importantly, they are authentically vested in making our city the best it can be,” Goldstein said. “I continued to be awed by our community’s corporate leaders, and we’re excited that this partnership enables us to connect more people to our community in a powerful way.”
CoverMyMeds joins several notable companies partnering with Besa, including Big Lots, EXPRESS, GBQ Partners, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Kaufman Development, Safelite AutoGlass and more.
Besa is a Columbus nonprofit dedicated to supporting those who need it most by connecting people and businesses with local charities, from food pantries to homeless shelters. Besa offers a portal at www.givebesa.org where Columbus residents can easily find and register for volunteer opportunities citywide; it hosts drives for various nonprofits; and it helps corporate partners manage and enhance their philanthropic efforts.
